Marvin C. Glenn Sr. was
born in Louisville, Mississippi, to Buford Glenn and
Mary D. Glenn. He was the seventh of eleven children born
to this union. Marvin graduated high school in 1968 from Camile
St. High, Louisville, Mississippi. At age 12, when his brother
Herman Glenn bought his first acoustic guitar, he was very excited
about learning to play the guitar. At age 16 he was playing guitar
at night clubs across Mississippi and Missouri.
In
July, 1970, he moved to Chicago, Illinois where he joined The Genessee
Travelers. As lead guitarist, Marvin worked very hard to record
many LP's, CD's, and Cassettes with the group. On July 17,
1996, Marvin started his own record label: Morning Star Records Inc.,
where his work continues as Executive Producer, Song Writer and
Composer. As a producer and musician, Marvin has performed with such
musical luminaries as Evelyn Turrentine-Agee, The Jackson Southernaires,
The Williams Brother, the legendary Dixie Hummingbirds, Lee Williams, The
Gospel Keynotes and many other. He
has produced music for Gospel artists both young and old.
